Phil and Allan have rolled the outer cladding sheets and these have now been stored at Baron Street.
Nigel and Allan have continued with the damper gear, which is now complete and ready for fitting on the loco.
Sharon, Nigel and Harry have been cleaning up and refurbishing the gauge frames.
Stuart has continued with the fabricating and fitting of new cylinder end covers.
Hughie, Colin, Mark and Jim have continued with the sanding and painting and have now started applying the first top coats. This looked especially good when the rear of the loco was completed in black with the red buffer plate area.
Dave, Allan, Dave D and Harry have been bending and fitting the steam feed to the outside injector pipe, which is now ready for the ends to be braised on. The inside injector steam feed pipe has now been started.
Nigel, Dave D, Allan and Jim have completed the assembly of the ash pan and mechanism.
Our shop staff continue their hard work and support. We are looking to increase our shop staff if anybody would like to join the team.
The manifold is now complete with Nigel and Harry completing the locking plates.
The side windscreen frames have been welded on by Allan.
Alan has continued his support in tidying the store and the workshop.
The boiler front tube plate was found by the boilermakers to have a bow in it, so it was returned to be straightened. Whilst they were down here the guys from Dalgleish picked up the firegrate assembly, the firehole door assembly and a static steam pipe and took them back for future build onto the boiler and firebox.
