Workshop Update 20th March 2018

BR Standard Class 4 mt  2-6-4T  loco   No 80097

The backhead has now been refitted and work has started on the first fitting of the boiler and firebox steel covers. This involves cutting and shaping each panel and fitting edge profiles round the controls, clacks, washout plugs, mudhole doors, etc..

In addition to our usual weekend’s work there has just been a full week’s concentrated effort on these steel covers with members working in the workshop every day.

Work is also being carried out on refurbishing our Simplex diesel shunter.

A reminder that Bury Standard 4 Group memberships are due for renewal at the end of March. It’s still only £10 per year. Renewals can be sent by post, online by paypal on this website or by calling in at the shop coach at the end of platform 2 at the ELR Bury Bolton street station.
