Workshop Update 10th May

A small amount of work continues on the loco whilst we wait for the return of the boiler.

The injector bodies have been taken to a local engineering firm for final machining.

The boiler company, Dalgliesh Engineering have had a problem with the longtitudinal stays in the boiler and are working to resolve this. We currently now expect the boiler to be returned in July.

Steady progress continues on the High Fit wagon where the sides have now been refitted and the doors mounted. Extensive reinforcing welding of the frame has almost been completed and the brakes mechanism and pipes are being refurbished.

The lifting of the Ivatt loco boiler has been scheduled for the 7th June.
