Our CME has just made a visit to the boiler company, Adam Dalgleish, to deliver the regulator rod so that they can accurately position the J pipe.
They have now started to offer up the boiler sections to the firebox. A couple of minor snags have shown up: the doubling plate was pinching on the barrel as it entered the firebox and a slight ovality has been found between the boiler barrel and the firebox. These will be remedied and although there is still a great deal of unseen work to be done, this should be fairly straight forward when it's all riveted together. It is now is starting to look like a real boiler at last.
We are expecting to get the completed boiler assembly back by the end of January, so it’s going to be an interesting New Year.
