Shop Closure again | Shop Coach Reopens

BR Standard Class 4    2–6–4 T     No  80097

 

80097 has had the mud doors and all the inside of the firebox cleaned and it was necessary to replace four stay nuts in the firebox. This was in preparation for a cold boiler exam on the 19th February, which she passed.

 

 Even though the engine is not running, she still has to have mandatory boiler tests at fixed intervals.  All these tests have to be paid for, even though there is no income coming in to the Group.

 

In common with all the ELR locos, her boiler has now been drained for winter storage.

No work has been possible due to the railway closedown and covid restrictions

 

 

 

Shop Closure

 

With the December announcement of further covid restrictions and the current closedown of the railway, the Shop remains closed until further notice.

 

The Click and Collect arrangements, which we introduced to enable some form of trading  prior to the current lockdown,  are also suspended.
